Clarendelle Saint-Émilion

Clarendelle Saint-Émilion, Inspired by Haut-Brion, is a subtle blend of three traditional Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine expresses all the mystery of Saint-Émilion, with this unique style. It is a real wine of pleasure and sharing.

Tasting notes

Brilliant colour, with a beautiful, dark red hue. Aromas of fleshy black fruit such as black cherry and blackcurrant come to the fore on the nose, mingled with more animal nuances, as well as notes of forest floor and violet. Full-bodied and very fruity on the palate, underpinned by cocoa and tobacco flavours. Hints of spices and liquorice characteristic of ripe Merlot follow through to the finish.

All in all, a refreshing and delicious wines thanks to good minerality, accompanied by wonderful energy and complexity.

Climate

The 2021 vintage was shaped by the whims of nature. Cold spells during spring set the tone, followed by consistently high rainfall throughout the growth cycle, resulting in an unprecedented threat of vine diseases. The weather warmed up somewhat in late spring, with temperatures conducive to good ripening.

The broadly “cool” summer yielded grapes with promising acidity levels, making for attractive, fruity and aromatic wines.
